Smart Key System

The NMAX is one of the most sophisticated scooters in its class and it comes with Yamaha’s Smart Key system as standard equipment. As long as you have the Smart Key with you in a pocket or bag, this keyless system allows you to turn your NMAX on, saving time and making the whole process much simpler and more convenient. No more messing around looking for conventional keys in a dark car park at night!

Newly designed frame

Hidden away behind the dynamic new bodywork, there’s an all-new frame that plays a key role in making the NMAX one of Yamaha’s best performing urban commuters. Its completely new design features a larger 7.1-litre fuel tank located in the centre tunnel to give better weight distribution for excellent manoeuvrability – and the new chassis and bodywork provide a more comfortable riding position with increased wind protection and reduced noise.

Traction Control System.

The new NMAX now comes with a Traction Control System that gives you a more confident ride on loose or slippery surfaces, such as wet cobblestones or tramlines. When the TCS senses that any rear tyre slippage is about to happen, it momentarily reduces drive to the rear wheel so that the tyre maintains traction, allowing you to ride confidently in varying weather and road surface conditions.

Start & Stop

By riding such an economical scooter, you’re already helping to lessen your carbon footprint and to further reduce urban pollution and minimise fuel consumption, the NMAX is equipped with a Start & Stop system that cuts in when you come to a stop at traffic lights or on congested streets. When the lights go green, just release the brakes and twist the throttle and the EURO5 engine starts immediately.

Underseat storage space

As well as being Yamaha’s sportiest and most dynamic 125cc scooter in the Urban Mobility class, the NMAX also has a practical side that makes it the ideal companion for work and play. Flip up the contoured dual seat and you’ll be able to access the spacious storage compartment, which is large enough to accommodate your helmet and other personal items when parked.

Connected LCD instruments

This premium yet affordable urban scooter is equipped with newly-developed high-tech LCD instruments that are linked to the new SCCU. As well as showing speed, distance, fuel level and temperature, this connected display is linked to the SCCU and features icons that will light up and notify you of incoming calls, emails and SMS messages, as well as displaying your smartphone’s battery status.

Power socket and front pockets

With its easy-to-use SCCU and wide range of MyRide app functions, the NMAX enables you to stay fully connected wherever you go – making sure that you never miss an important message from work colleagues or friends. Its convenient power socket enables you to keep your smartphone fully charged while riding and the front pockets provide a weatherproof place to store personal belongings.
