Powered by a magnificent 1,833cc, six-cylinder engine, you have the choice of manual six-speed gearbox or seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), all housed in a sophisticated, nimble-handling chassis that includes double-wishbone front suspension, Pro-Arm rear suspension and electronic damping. Newly upgraded audio and speakers guarantee a perfect soundtrack to each ride. And that’s what the Gold Wing is about. The pure perfection of the ride.

1,833cc, 24V SOHC flat six-cylinder engine

Revel in this mechanical masterpiece and enjoy a hugely strong, 170Nm avalanche of torque peaking at just 4,500rpm, delivered with unique character. Acceleration from standstill on through the rev-range is effortless and exhilarating. Throttle By Wire (TBW) engine management features four riding modes – TOUR, SPORT, ECON and RAIN – with throttle feel and delivery optimised for low-speed control.

Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)

There’s a choice between a six-speed manual transmission with Assist/Slipper clutch and electric reverse, or our unique, seven-speed DCT for seamless automatic (or manually-controlled by handlebar-mounted triggers) up and downshifts. We’ve created a unique Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that works as a starter motor, as well as a generator; saving weight and energy. The Gold Wing can crawl in walking mode forwards and backwards, too, which is ideal for parking.

Finely honed chassis

Under the sleek bodywork, a hugely strong, die-cast aluminium twin-beam frame provides rock-solid stability, with steering precision and control from double wishbone front suspension. The single-sided rear Pro-Arm operates through Pro-Link, with electronically-adjustable spring preload, while front and rear damping force adjusts relative to riding mode selected. Dual Combined Braking System (D-CBS) distributes braking force evenly, and with ABS control, for confident, efficient stopping power.

7-inch TFT control centre

Cockpit instrumentation highlights everything you need to know in luxurious detail. The display comprises an immersive, 7-inch TFT screen where you can manage every system – including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay – as well as Bluetooth® and riding modes. The navigation system features a gyrocompass, for continued guidance in long tunnels, while the audio system and lightweight speakers show off upgraded sound quality.

Adjustable, electrically-operated windscreen

The windscreen provides excellent wind protection – or opens up a sense of freedom for what’s to come. The height and angle can be adjusted electrically by simply pushing the button up or down on the left handlebar; it also memorises your favourite positions and will auto-adjust accordingly.

Aids for easy riding

For life on the open road, many details contribute to create such a cohesive travel partner. Throttle By Wire delivers smooth cruise control operation, up and down hill, to ease long highway days. Hill Start Assist (HSA) helps get away when parked on an incline. The DCT option also features Idling Stop, which seamlessly restarts the engine in first gear for a smooth take off when the throttle’s opened.

Pannier space for all that matters

Sleek, unobtrusive and with room for what you need; there’s 60L capacity between the two panniers. They open with a button and hydraulic dampers smooth the action. Also, a USB Type-C socket is tucked away in the left pannier, for the pillion to plug into.

Smart Key operation

Simply keep the Smart Key in your pocket, press the start button and go. And there’s no need to manually unlock the panniers, as the Gold Wing senses the Smart Key as you approach, unlocks and, equally, locks them as you move away.

CONTROL OF POWER
Sure, the Gold Wing loves the highway. But it comes alive in corners.

This is a motorcycle built to handle curves, joyfully. Its die-cast, aluminium twin-beam frame uses double wishbone front suspension, to reduce sliding friction from bump deflections and steering input. Steering input is also separated from suspension action and the result is light, nimble handling from walking speeds up. For a perfectly controlled, compliant ride, damping force adjusts electronically according to riding mode selection; rear spring preload also adjusts electronically. It’s an intuitive system – separate from the 4 riding modes, there are 4 settings relative to load, from soft to hard. Altogether, this is a chassis created to harness the kinetic energy of an incredible, one-of-a kind powerplant. So you can use all of it to impressive effect.
